The Akwa Ibom State government is to launch an employment programme tagged, “Ibom 3000 Project”, for youths in the state.
Governor Udom Emmanuel who announced this during a statewide broadcast to people of the state over recent happenings concerning the #ENDSARS, #ENDPOLICEBRUTALITY protest, said the project is to prepare them for the over 1000 jobs that would be created from the expected industrialization boom in the state.
In his broadcast, Governor Udom Emmanuel who expressed sympathy with those who lost their lives in the state and the different parts of thecountry, but decried the activities of hoodlums who hijacked the protest to destroy and loot property in the state.

Governor Emmanuel commended the youths who rose up to protect infrastructure in the state and assured them that his administration would put in place programmes that would be of benefit to them.
The governor added that a programme tagged, “My Entrepreneurship Goals Programme MEGP- batch 111,” which would provide the needed education and skills in entrepreneurship, that would assist them to create jobs for themselves, which would begin next week.
