Rivers State governor Nyesom Wike says the independence of the judiciary should be more about accurate dispensation of justice and not about emoluments alone.

Speaking after he presided over the swearing-in of three judges of the Rivers State high court and one judge of the customary court of appeal, Wike says the judiciary should at all times consider persons who are fearless and firm.

The governor explained that the appointment of the 4 new judges is in line with his administration’s effort to ensure that there is an appreciable number of judicial officers in the system to help dispense with the many pending cases at the various courts in the state.
