Rivers State Governor, Sim Fubara and his Enugu State counterpart, Peter Mbah have mourned the death of the Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu.
Governor Fubara, who expressed shock over the death of the legal luminary, described him as a leader who dedicated his life to the service and wellbeing of his people and humanity.
He said the death was not just a loss to Ondo State alone, but to the entire nation.
Governor Fubara said the late Rotimi Akeredolu was a fine gentleman who had high respect for the rule of law as a seasoned lawyer.
While praying for the repose of his soul, Governor Sim Fubara also asked God to comfort his family, the government, and the people of the state over the painful exit
Enugu State Governor, Peter Mbah, has also expressed sorrow at the passing of the late Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria.
In a statement personally signed on Wednesday, Governor Mbah conveyed his heartfelt condolences, acknowledging Akeredolu’s dedicated service to both his people and the nation.
The Enugu state Governor described the demise as a grievous loss, extending sympathy not only to Akeredolu’s immediate family and the people of Ondo State but also emphasizing the impact on the entire nation.
Mbah, reflecting on Akeredolu’s legacy as an intellectual leader and legal luminary, noted that he was well-prepared for leadership and effectively fulfilled his mandate.
“Chief Akeredolu was a courageous leader, who shone like a million stars in the legal profession, loved and defended his people, giving his utmost best towards the development of Ondo State. He served Ondo State and Nigeria passionately and .wholeheartedly.
“Indeed, he finished well, he kept faith and he fought the good fight, even till the end” Governor Mbah noted.
He prayed for God’s comfort upon the bereaved family and the people of Ondo State during this challenging period.
