Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has urged Muslims to strengthen their existing interpersonal relationships with other ethnic, religious, or political backgrounds.
According to the Governor, the religion of Islam propagates total submission to the will of Allah and peaceful co-existence among Muslims with adherents of other faiths.
The governor also called for prayers for the prevailing peace to be sustained and for adequate rainfall to have a bumper harvest during this year’s farming season.
The governor in a statement also acknowledged the economic hardship being experienced globally, as a result of the COVID 19 pandemic since last year and therefore appealed to Nigerians to bear with the situation, which according to him is temporary.
He said as a government, they will continue to render palliative measures, to cushion the effect of the hardship.

In a related development, Governor Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State has called on Nigerians, irrespective of religious and ethnic differences, to continue to tolerate one another.
Governor Atiku Bagudu made the call in his Eid-El-Adha message to Nigerians.
The Governor also charged Nigerians, to make it a point of duty, to pray for peaceful coexistence.
The Governor reminded Muslims to continue to exhibit the teachings of Prophet Muhammad, in their daily affairs.
