The removal of the Ekiti State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governorship candidate, Wole Oluyede, from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) portal, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) supporters on Tuesday staged a peaceful protest at the Ekiti State INEC office.
Addressing the protesters, the Chairman of the Inter-Party Advisory Council (IPAC) in Ekiti State, Owoola Daramola, alongside a PDP stakeholder, Deji Ogunsakin, called on INEC to clearly explain the reasons behind the action taken against the PDP candidate.
Responding on behalf of the electoral body, the Head of the Legal Department of INEC in Ekiti State, Tunde Salako, said the commission’s headquarters in Abuja remains the only authority empowered to explain the circumstances surrounding the disqualification of Dr Oluyede.
