If all developers start including Solar Power Plants in their new buildings, a significant amount of power would be added to the National grid.
This submission was made in Lagos by the Minister of power, Adebayo Adelabu at a summit of Professionals in Africa’s Building Industry tagged “Building Resilient Futures”.
It’s the second edition of the future City summit convened by the Green Building Council of Nigeria, this time in conjunction with the world GBC Africa Regional Network.
With the theme “Building Resilient Futures” this assembly of key players in Africa’s Energy and Infrastructure Sectors deliberated on strategies needed to design green certified cities that are liveable, safe and can survive the impact of changing climate.
Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu represented by the Assistant Director, Renewable and Rural Power Access, in his key note address noted that Green Buildings should be made to optimise both material and energy use. He encouraged the professionals to always adopt energy efficiency in buildings.
The summit elicited interests among participants in contributing to the expansion of sustainable energy access and efficiency as well as climate protection.
