The Coalition of Northern Groups, CNG, says it has gathered shocking and frightening information, that some villages in the frontline local government areas are firmly under the control of the terrorists, where levies and taxes are imposed on the people, subjecting the poor people further into economic deprivation and devastation.
The North-West Coordinator of the group, Jamilu Charanchi in a statement on behalf of the CNG, said the stories are condemnably demoralizing, as over 50 innocent, defenceless and impoverished citizens of the state were being killed systematically, in the last four weeks.
Charanchi added that, while these atrocities go on with alarming regularity, the Federal Government appeared to have completely surrendered prerogative of the use of force to the terrorists, who today operate parallel governments in villages and communities in the state, where they impose taxes and levies on the villages, and kill people at will.
This according to the CNG, is in reaction to the recent developments, where the terrorists have been operating across Jibiya, Batsari, Bakori and Faskari, killing scores of helpless and defenceless citizens, in addition to multiple kidnappings, and other forms of exploitations.

Charanchi added that regrettably, these killings, abductions, maiming and exploitation, have been going on incessantly, with no respite in sight, stressing that the CNG, therefore, finds the recent killing of Magaji Yangayya, DPO of Jibiya, and the injuring of an army officer in the state, very worrisome and alarming.
While accusing the political leaders of neglect to protect the lives and property of the people, said they are busy with their politicking, without showing any iota of sympathy and empathy, to the plight of the people.
The CNG further noted that the security institutions are grossly understaffed, ill-equipped and poorly motivated, to sufficiently confront the monstrous terrorism, and rampaging banditry, and force them out of their hidden enclaves, adding that they are convinced that the government and its functionaries have lost the political will and determination, to decisively deal with the problems, once and for all.
