The Atiku Abubakar Independent Volunteer Movement has called on delegates and party faithful to rally behind the former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar in the forthcoming PDP Presidential Primaries.

Briefing newsmen in FCT, Abuja, the group’s national coordinator, Atinshola Oludare noted that Atiku, being a detribalized leader would relate equitably with Nigerians and get Nigeria working again.

“Atiku loves Nigeria and he shows it in his own little way”. His policy includes mentoring of several youths nationwide, doling out scholarships especially to the less privileged, empowering widows and giving hope to the hopeless.”

Atinshola, however, said they are campaigning for the transformation of the Nigerian economy and creation of jobs, having in mind that the former Vice President had created jobs through his multi-billion investments across the country.

His words: “Atiku Abubakar is the best Nigerian political leader from northern Nigeria, he is detribalized, a business mogul, a philanthropist and employer of Labour, a good bridge builder, and without radical religious views.

“He relates equitably with Nigerians in business and in politics without greed or sentiments.

“His Excellency Alhaji Atiku Abubakar is a true democrat who once sacrificed his position to save our democracy. He is an honest politician who plays by the rule and is always on the side of truth and the constitution.

“Hence Atiku Abubakar Independent Volunteer Movement across the thirty-six states and the FCT are asking the leadership, delegates and stakeholders of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to support the candidacy of Atiku Abubakar to ensure he emerges as the flag bearer of the party for 2023 presidential election.

“We wish to appeal to PDP governors, present and past party leaders, stakeholders and members of the party, and indeed all well-meaning Nigerians, to support the candidacy of Atiku Abubakar, to ensure that he emerges as the flag bearer of the PDP for the 2023 presidential election.

“He said the APC led federal government has failed in stabilizing the nation’s economy which has resulted in a historic job loss and means of livelihood insisting that President Buhari does not even have a road map of development for the country. We wish to use this opportunity to call on Nigerians, both home and in diaspora, to vehemently reject President Muhammadu Buhari and his Party, the APC in Nigeria in all future elections,” Atinshola, concluded.
