Gunmen have reportedly abducted and killed the traditional ruler of Riruwai in Toro Local Government Area of Bauchi State, North-East Nigeria, Garba Badamasi.
Though the Police Public Relations Officer in Bauchi State, Ahmed Wakili has denied knowledge of the incident, one of the traditional title holders in Riruwai village in Lame District of Bauchi Emirate has confirmed the tragedy.
AIT.live gathered that the village head was abducted by the gunmen who invaded his domain on Friday, March 15, 2024. A source who does not want to be named said the gunmen went straight into the palace of the deceased from where they abducted him.
The deceased was said to have spent one day in captivity before he was murdered and his corpse dumped around the village. His body was later recovered by those who had embarked on search and rescue mission.
His corpse was brought to the palace on Sunday, where funeral prayers were held and his subsequent burial according to Islamic rites.
