Latest reports say, four persons have been killed in Ebonyi State, South East Nigeria after some gunmen attacked a local government chairman’s residence.
The victims were said to be at the residence of the Ikwo Local Government Area Chairman, Steve Orogwu when the suspected assailants struck,
ait.live gathered that the yet to be identified gunmen, stormed the chairman’s home in Ekpaomaka in apparent assassination bid, but did not meet their target.
Locals narrated that the gunmen shot and killed three of the relatives of their suspected target, as well as the security guard on duty in the compound.
Orogwu himself, who confirmed the incident to Newsmen, narrates that the gunmen equally razed his family house.
At press time, no suspect had been arrested, nor any reason given for the attack.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Loveth Odah, told ait.live that she was in Abuja on official assignment and could not speak on the incident.
