Burnt Vehicle by Sit-at home enforcers

Gunmen suspected to be enforcing an illegal Monday sit-at-home order, have again, disrupted peace in Ebonyi state, this time targeting motorists on the Abakaliki/Enugu expressway.

An unverified video obtained by ait.live shows burning vehicles and motorcycles while terrified residents scamper for safety.

A witness, traveling from Enugu to Abakaliki, who recounted the horrifying scene off-camera, says the incident took place near the Izhiangbo Junction in Ohaukwu Local Government Area, around 8 o’clock in the morning.

He describes the attackers arriving in a Sienna vehicle, firing shots to cause chaos, and then setting vehicles on fire.

It’s unclear if there were any casualties.

While the state police spokesperson, SP Onome Onovwakpoyeya, hadn’t been officially informed, she however acknowledged the presence of security personnel in parts of the state.
