The Delta state police command has confirmed the abduction of three teachers by unknown gunmen Tuesday afternoon in the Uvwie Local Government Area of the state.

The Command Public Relations Officer, DSP, Onome Onovwakpoyeya, in a phone conversation, told ait.live that gunmen in army uniform drove into the premises of the Ohorhe Secondary School in a gold-coloured High Lander SUV with registration number yet to be confirmed, headed straight to the staff room and abducted three teachers, two females and a male.

According to DSP Onome, there was nothing some community youths could do to prevent the armed men from leaving the school with the teachers.
