Gunmen suspected to be bandits, on Monday, kidnapped a reporter with the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA) in Jos, Abdulwab Babankanti.
He was taken away along Bauchi Road in Plateau State, North Central Nigeria.

The journalist who is said to be a Principal Reporter with the NTA Jos Network Centre was abducted alongside three others on the highway around the Jos Toro Road while returning from Bauchi.
The Plateau State Police Command through its spokesman, Deputy Superintendent of Police, DSP Alabo Alfred, confirmed the incident and said personnel of the command has already been deployed for the search and rescue of the abducted persons.
A source within the NTA Jos Network Centre, who also confirmed the incident but pleaded anonymity, revealed that the kidnappers had called to confirm that the journalist is in their custody, and demanded 10 million Naira as ransom.
As of the time of filling in this report, the Nigerian Television Authority, (NTA), is yet to make an official statement on the matter.
