Residents of Maitama District of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja were on Friday night thrown into confusion as gunmen reportedly killed one Khalid Bichi, a staff of the Federal Inland Revenue Service, FIRS.
Bichi who is a middle aged man and close ally to prominent politicians in Nigeria was shot by suspected hired assassins on his way to get some food at a nearby restaurant.

He was reportedly rushed to Maitama General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead by the medical officer on duty following multiple shots on him by the assailants.
According to sources, Bichi was known for being active on social media with the username @Khalid Bichi and had connections with influential politicians.
The Federal Capital Territory Police Command is yet to make any official statement on the incident as all calls and text messages to the Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh were not responded to.
It was gathered that Bichi was laid to rest on Saturday afternoon after funeral prayers at the National Mosque Abuja.
