Gunmen have attacked the Okuta Elerinla Divisional Police Station in Akure, the Ondo State capital in the early hours of Monday.
The reason for the attack was not yet certain as at the time of filing in this.
Spokesperson of the State Police Command, Funmilayo Odunlami who confirmed the incident said a police officer was shot dead during heavy shooting which occurred around 1:00am on Monday.

The Police PRO said investigation has commenced into the attack, while encouraging people of the State to go about their lawful duties without fear.
