Gunmen have struck another police station in Ebonyi State, killing a police officer while another is said to be injured and receiving treatment.
The incident occurred in Abaomege, which is in the headquarters of Onicha Local Government Area of the State.
State Commissioner for Internal Security and Border Peace and Conflict Resolution, Stanley Okoro-Emegha, confirmed the attack saying it happened Saturday night.
Locals living in the area say the gunmen attacked the station with dangerous arms, but were not totally successful as they failed to gain full access into the facility.
Commissioner of Police, Garba Aliya, and the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO DSP Loveth Odah did not immediately respond to inquiries by ait.live on the incident.
