Gunmen have agreed to allow eight communities in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State, to go about their normal activities, as long as they pay five million Naira.
The bandits assured the communities of free movement of persons and goods, once they meet the target, at the right time.
The villages are Manta, Jiko, Beri, Gunugu, Gini, Gaga and Magami.
A member of the Manta Community in an interview said, the communities have agreed with the bandits’ terms, to enable them to go about their normal activities.
The community member who is a retired Civil Servant, said his child was killed by the bandits in one of the attacks launched on the community.

The retired civil servant said, some of the communities who agreed to pay the five million Naira are regretting, as the bandits have refused to respect their terms.
He notes that the communities were able to mobilize two million Naira out of the agreed sum, to enable them raise the hope of the bandits.
The bandits have also abducted the person assigned to convey the money to them.
Consultations are said to be ongoing among the people, on how to find lasting solution to the lingering security challenge, which has affected the socio-economic lives of the people in the area.
Police Public Relations Officer for Niger State, DSP Wasiu Abiodun, could not be reached for comments.
