In order to ensure effectiveness and efficiency ahead of the 2024 Hajj exercise, the Niger State Command of the Nigeria Immigration Service has received five new pieces of complete digital data-capturing equipments from the State government.
The Acting Comptroller of the Command, Emmanuel Eche, said the gesture will help reduce congestion, and speed up passport processing in the State.

The equipment received include; five digital cameras, five desktop computers, fingerprint scanners, and signature pads.
The essence of the equipment, according to the Ministry of Communications, Technology, and Digital Economy, is to ease the process of passport collection, especially as traffic is about to be high, due to the 2024 Hajj operations, which is to begin soon, as well as for students on scholarships.
Receiving the equipment on behalf of the Comptroller General of the Service, the Niger State Acting Comptroller, Emmanuel Eche, described the gesture as the first of its kind in the State, which will go a long way towards improving their services.
It is hoped that with Niger State having 3,201 registered intending pilgrims for the 2024 Hajj exercise, as well as other residents who are up for passport processing, the new development will enhance speed and reduce congestion, at the registration points.
