Heads to roll after plot to unseat Senator Ifeanyi Ubah failed

The Judicial Panel set up by the FCT High Court  to investigate the Forgery and fraud allegations  perpetrated by  Obinna Uzor in his bid to unseat Senator Ifeanyi Ubah has recommended the dismissal of three officers of the court while others were recommended for demotion for their various roles in the Forgery of court documents.

Obinna Uzor was alleged to have used fake and forged documents in connivance with the court officials to unseat Ifeanyi Ubah as the Senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District.

The Committee in its report dated June 1st 2020 established that the court officials connived with Obinna Uzor and his lawyers to perpetrate fraud and forgery of court documents.

In the report signed by its Chairman Madugu Mohammed and Secretary Aminu Audu, the Committee after thorough investigation and careful study of evidence adduced that all the exhibits tendered were not in The FCT High Court record.

The FCT High Court Staff affected by the committee finding are Kingsley  Ebibrah a Registrar, Ibrahim Yau, Micheal Enuenwosu , Maku Felix , Abiodun Kolawole ,Iraq Umar and Shaibu Alhassan.

The panel also recommended punishment for Obinna Uzor.

Senator Ubah had through his Counsel, Chukwuemeka Nwuigwe petitioned the Chief Judge Of the FCT High Court basically on what they perceived as unprecedented fraud in the history of the Nigerian Judiciary.

Ubah alleged that the staff altered, mutilated and back dated processes of an unassigned suit, and that due to the manipulation he could not defend himself as he was not part of the proceedings that unseat him as the senator representing Anambra South Senatorial District.

On appeal, the Court Of Appeal upheld his victory while the Supreme Court dismissed the appeal filed by Obinna Uzor for lack of territorial jurisdiction.
