Health Experts Raise Alarm Over Influx Of Fake BP Test Kits Into The Country

Some Cardiovascular health Experts have raised the alarm over influx of fake high blood pressure test kits into Nigeria, given falsified blood pressure test results associated with the ugly trend.

Experts who are worried over the increased number of about eighty Million hypertensive persons in Nigeria want the challenges of influx of fake test kits addressed quickly.

Hypertension Also known as high blood pressure occurs when the pressure in the blood vessel gets too high.

Due to the asymptomatic nature of the disease, people hardly know their status except they carry out a blood pressure check.

The influx of fake test kits now in circulation,has however become a big threat to human lives as people are decieved by the falsified results being chunned out resulting to more deaths from the disease.

Beyond the call for more government regulation,experts are calling for more Awareness and adoption of positive life style to keep away from hypertension and other non communicable Diseases.

The risk factors to hypertension include hereditary, Obesity,lack of Exercise, amongst others.

The condition when not detected and treated early make patients prone to life threatening complications like stroke, kidney failure and heart diseases.
