Joint Health Sector Union, JOHESU members in hospitals and health institutions in the Federal Capital Territory Abuja and states across the country are to join tge ongoing strike by their counterparts in federal health institutions from 12 midnight of Wednesday, December 4.
JOHESU National leadership had declared strike in all federal health institutions on November 14, with a directive to states to issue a 15-day strike notice, which expires this Tuesday, December 2.
AIT.live gathered that the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC with 42 affiliates and the Trade Union Congress, TUC with over 33 affiliates have backed the JOHESU strike.
The health workers are on strike over what they sayis the government’s failure to implement the Consolidated Health Salary Structure, CONHESS after 12 years.
In the meantime, JOHESU has deployed its members across the country to monitor compliance with the ongoing strike.

As at the time of this report, both the Federal Ministry of Health and that of Labour and Employment were yet react to the latest decision by states chapters of JOHESU to join the ongoing strike in federal health institutions.
