The planned Joint Health Sector Workers Union nationwide shutdown of hospitals midnight of sunday, september 13, 2020 may still go ahead.
AIT investigation reveals that there is a high possibility for the planned strike to begin on Sunday since as at the time of filing this report, the health workers are yet to take a decision on whether or not they will suspend the planned action.
Thursday meeting between the Federal Government and the health workers resolved that the workers will meet with its members the latest Saturday, September 12, to deliberate on understandings reached and to decide on suspending the planned strike.
The health workers are unhappy over omissions and errors in the payment of the COVID-19 hazard allowance, non-payment of April, May 2018 salaries, and salary adjustment for equity in the sector, among other issues.
