In a strategic move to address healthcare challenges in hard-to-reach areas, Cross River State Governor Bassey Otu has announced plans to acquire additional drones for the efficient distribution of medical supplies.
Citizens in remote regions often grapple with barriers like limited medical supplies and distance to Primary Health Care Centers, but Governor Otu is actively working on overcoming these challenges, by extending the reach of healthcare products to nine Local Government Areas in the Northern and Central Senatorial Districts of the state.
In an interview with AIT.live in Calabar, the Deputy Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Edem Darlington, underscored the governor’s unwavering commitment to his “People’s First” mantra, ensuring that all citizens, regardless of location, had access to top-notch healthcare services.

Also speaking, Community Health Officers Raphael Obok and Augustine Ekong, serving in Primary Healthcare Centres in Ukelle South, Yala Local Government Area, commended the effectiveness of drone services in providing vital healthcare support to the hard-to-reach areas.
As the drone services continue to bridge gaps in healthcare access, the resounding success stories of Governor Bassey Otu’s endeavor echoe through the state.
