The hearing of Peter Obi and Labour Party’s petition at the presidential election petition court was stalled on Wednesday as their counsel, Awa Kalu informed the court that two of their key staff at the party secretariat took ill and the presentation of documents which was intended by the petitioners was not possible.

Kalu made the case as the court resumed hearing, following an adjournment the previous day and prayed the court for an adjournment.

Counsel for the respondents did not oppose the move and the five-man panel of Justices led by Justice Haruna Tsammani adjourned hearing of their petition to Thursday.

Justice Tsammani had adjourned till Wednesday after Obi and the Labour Party called only one witness, a lawyer from Ihiala in Anambra state, who admitted in evidence, a United States of America District Court judgment which reportedly indicted Bola Tinubu and ordered his forfeiture of $460,000 in drug-related offences.
