Following the directive of the Kwara State government to principals, teachers, and staff often closed mission schools to resume on Friday in preparations for the examinations for the final year student, most of the schools are still under lock and key.

The intervention of the security operatives with government officials later led to the forceful opening of the gates as some Christian faithful gather at the school gates singing and dancing.

Sequel to the crisis two days ago over the refusal to allow muslim girls with hijab access to the affected schools, the kwara state government in statement directed the principals and teachers to resume immediately

Most of the schools visited were under lock and key with some being locked from inside.

At saint Anthony College, teachers could be seen discussing in groups wondering who could have locked the gate.

The situation at Cherubim and Seraphim school was the same as teachers sign a register to show their attendance at the school, lorry load of sand was dumped in front of the school to prevent students and teachers gaining access to the school.

However, the Vice principal says even the gateman could not give a definite answer on who locked the gate when asked.

Meanwhile the arrival of the government officials accompanied by security operatives changed the narratives as the gates were open thereby allowing the staff to gain access.

Even though the Christian faithfuls were seen singing and dancing peacefully in what could be described as peaceful protest against the development at the gate to prevent access to the school, this did not prevent the security operatives from doing their job.

The situation at baptist school surulere where the fracas occurred two days ago was however peaceful as teachers and staff were on hand inside the school though without students.

The people of the state are eagerly awaiting how the crisis will be resolved especially with the need for students to write their final year School certificate examinations.
