Hoodlums Vandalize SDP Campaign Office In Lokoja

Hoodlums invaded the State Campaign office of the Social Democratic Party SDP, on Sunday vandalized the complex, pulled down the billboard and set it on fire.

Speaking on the incident shortly after it occurred in Lokoja, the running mate to the SDP governorship candidate, Sam Abenemi expressed shock that the hoodlums whom he claimed were political thugs could invade the campaign office and destroy its property even without any form of provocation.

In another statement, the Director General, Strategic Planning Directorate of the Muritala Ajaka Campaign Council, Gowon Enenche wants the Police and Kogi state government to urgently fish out the perpetrators and bring them to justice describing the act as uncivilized

Meanwhile, in a swift reaction, Kogi state Government has condemned in its strongest terms, the alleged vandalization of the Campaign Office of the Social Democratic Party in Lokoja, describing it as barbaric, undemocratic and unacceptable to the people and Government of Kogi State.

Commissioner for Information, Kingsley Fanwo in a statement made available to journalists in Lokoja on Sunday said, the State Government will continue to support the freedom of anyone and everyone to aspire to positions in line with democratic values and ethos.

Fanwo called on security agencies to urgently investigate and apprehend the perpetrators of the dastardly act with the aim of bringing them to justice and to send a strong warning to hoodlums that Kogi Governorship Election will be decided by the ballots, not the bullets
