A bill seeking to establish the Bayelsa State Institute of Tourism and Hospitality Bill, 2020 scaled second reading on the floor of the State House of Assembly on Friday.
In his lead debate, Deputy Speaker, Michael Ogbere who sponsored the bill explained that the proposed law seeks to repeal the Bayelsa State Tourism, Catering and Hotel Management Law of 2012.
According to Ogbere, the development was predicated on the need to upgrade programmes in the States Institute of Tourism and Hospitality to meet up with global standards as well as enable it to access external funds.
