Lawmakers in the House of Representatives on Thursday kicked out a motion seeking to declare Bauchi State an oil-producing state.
The motion sponsored by a lawmaker from Bauchi State, Yakubu Abdullahi claims that oil exploration in Bauchi State commenced in 2018 but no official report on whether the exercise is a success or not.

The motion calls for the need for Bauchi State to benefit from the 13% derivation as the people are anxiously waiting to witness the economic benefits.
