Deputy Speaker of Nigeria’s House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, says President Bola Tinubu has shown his determination to address all issues affecting Nigeria’s South-east geopolitical zone with the signing of the South-east Development Commission bill into law,.
The Deputy Speaker in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary thanked President Tinubu, his colleagues in the national assembly and all Nigerians for supporting the bill.

Kalu, with lawmakers from the South-east in the House of Representatives sponsored the bill which sought the establishment of the commission that will be charged with the responsibility to receive and manage fund from allocation of the federation account for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of roads, houses and other infrastructural damage suffered by the region as a result of the effect of the civil war after 54 years.
The commission is also set to tackle the ecological problems and any other related environmental or developmental challenge in the South-eastern states – Abia, Imo, Enugu, Anambra, and Ebonyi.
