Fifty-four House of Representatives Members-Elect under the leadership of Muktar Betara, a lower chamber legislator from Borno State, vying for the speakership of Nigeria’s House of Representatives,  have visited Jalingo, the Taraba State capital on a condolence visit over the death of the member-elect representing Jalingo/Yorro/Zing constituency Ismaila Maihanci.

They say the Green Chamber needs a vibrant and unifying leadership, that will position the10th Assembly to impact positively on citizens.

It was a visit to condole the family of the house of Representatives Member-elect Ismaila Maihanci from Taraba State, who died after a brief illness 37 days to his inauguration into the Green Chamber.

The visit also passes a message on the internal politics within Nigeria’s House of Representatives, over the 10th Assembly leadership.

At least 54 House of Representatives Members-Elect across political parties, and geopolitical zones led by Muktar Betara an aspirant vying to become the Speaker of the house, were in the entourage, to condole with the family of the member-elect in Jalingo.

They affirmed their support for a leadership that will unite Nigeria’s 10th Assembly beyond Political party affiliations, and geopolitical zones, but one that will put Nigerians first.

The Green Chamber Members-Elect said the deceased Ismaila Maihanci and his wealth of experience as a young politician cannot be replaced.

Some of the House of Representatives Members-Elect say the Green Chamber will have a fresh crop of youthful politicians, that will impact. positively the 10 Assembly with the right leadership in place.
