The speaker of Nigeria’s House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamiala has promised to use all available security avenues to ensure the safe return of missing Vanguard Newspapers Reporter, Tordue Salem.
Gbajabiamiala made this known at the opening of a two-day capacity building Workshop jointly organised by the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung and the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies for the House of Representatives Committee on Media and Public Affairs in Abuja.

The Country Representative of Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, Vladimir Kreck says the foundation has over the years pledged support for media training and citizens engagement to improve participation in the governance process and promote media freedom which helps in strengthening democratic tenets in every country.
Director General of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies, Abubakar Sulaiman while emphasising the importance of the House media committee to building the image of the legislature promised to work with the National Assembly towards enhancing their ability to communicate and relate with key stakeholders, Civil Society Organisations, constituents and development partners as a means of taking activities of the legislature closer to the People.
The House of Representatives committee promised to continue improving it’s media engagement through training workshops and programmes to bridge the gap between the legislature and the people to keep Nigerians informed with developments in the National Assembly.
