Over 1,200 women across six Local Government Areas in Nasarawa state have benefited from the Human Capital Development Agency’s empowerment project, which offers business training, digital tools, and free health insurance coverage.
The Nasarawa State Government said the effort is geared towards promoting women’s economic empowerment through a new initiative that equips female-led Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) with critical business and digital skills.
The EmpowerHer Project targets women in 12 communities across Wamba, Lafia, Awe, Akwanga, Keffi, Karu, and other LGAs in the southern zone of the state, with 100 beneficiaries per community.
The initiative is aimed at preparing women for financial independence and digital inclusion which also involves the opening of new bank accounts and reactivation of dormant ones to ensure access to future funding opportunities and government grants.
