Officials of the National Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (N-HYPPADEC), have say that they are committed to the welfare and conditions of people living in the host areas of Gombe State, where hydropower stations are located.
Managing Director of the Agency, Abubakar Yelwa told journalists that the Agency would begin interventions, with the introduction of Gombe State amongst the States that would benefit from the activities of N-HYPPADEC.
The assurance came during a visit to a major hydroelectric dam in the North east, the Dadin Kowa dam located at Dadin Kowa community in Yalmaltu Deba Local Government Area of Gombe State
The officials of the Federal government agency ar looking at the conditions of the dam as well as the people living in the host communities.
The 3-day visit took the N-HYPPADEC management team to communities in the Funakaye Local Government and Nafada Local Government Areas, where the Agency outlined its assignment in Gombe.
Earlier, the team had paid a courtesy call to the Deputy Governor of the State, where
the State government described the visit as handy, as it will bring support to the host communities.
Asides providing supports, the Agency further assured of stronger collaboration with the State government.
