Rivers state governor Nyesom Wike says he is not going to impose anybody as governor on the people of river state come 2023.

The governor says all those praying and waiting for him to cede the governorship position to them are merely wasting their time.

Speaking when all the ethic groups and local government areas that make make up the Orashi region paid him a solidarity visit, Wike says power is not dashed but gotten by struggle.

Thousands of rivers sons and daughters from the four local government areas that make up the Orashi region were in attendance.

Led by their traditional and political leaders cutting across the different divides, the Orashi people came to appreciate the governor for all that his administration has done for them.

2023 may be some time away, but the Orashi people are already nursing the ambition of producing Wike’s successor.

And like he has told other ethnic groups, the governor says he has no intention of producing or imposing a successor on the people.

Wike says the people of Orashi region must unite in order to achieve their common goals.

The governor Wike also used the meeting to voice his displeasure with the manner in which some communities in the Orashi region were handling government projects and properties.

He says his administration will however not relent in its efforts to make life better for the Orashi people and the entire Rivers State.
