The Administrator of Rivers State, Vice Admiral (rtd) Ibok-Ete Ekwe Ibas, has approved the appointments of administrators for the 23 Local Government Areas of Rivers State.
This comes less than 24 hours after a Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt reportedly restrained the Administrator from appointing administrators to oversee the affairs of the local government councils.
According to statement by the Secretary to Government Ibibia Worika, the Sole Administrator also appointed Chairman and members of the Rivers State Electoral Commission.
The statement added that all appointments take effect from Monday April 7, 2025
