Niger State Governor, Umar Bago has described the former military head of state, General Ibrahim Babangida a unifier as he clocks 83 years.
The Governor, through a birthday message by his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, further describes the former Nigerian leader as a patriotic elder statesman and an embodiment of honour and service who has served the country diligently and with commitment.
He observes that the celebrant has been consistently involved in selfless service for the unity, stability, and progress of the nation as well as the well-being of citizens.

Bago also acknowledges that the former Nigerian leader, who always craves excellence, prioritises competence, which is why numerous policies and programmes were implemented with huge success under his leadership as the Military President.
According to Bago, IBB has, no doubt, carved a niche for himself and has become a mentor to many Nigerians.
