Former Nigerian Military President Ibrahim Badamosi Babangida has eulogised Nigeria’s Former Minister of Information, Tony Momoh, who died on Monday in Abuja at the age of 81, describing him as a teacher and patriot, with uncommon brilliance, who deployed his intellect to shape national discourse.
The late veteran journalist and politician was Nigeria’s Minister Of Information between 1986 and1990 under the military regime of the retired general.

General Babangida in a statement he personally signed and made available to ait.live on Tuesday recalled with nostalgia the event of the 80th Birthday celebration of late Prince Momoh last year, when he reflected on how his military regime tapped so much from his reservoir of knowledge
Describing the late Prince Momoh as a formidable mind, successful mass communicator, didactic letter writer and a brilliant legal mind, General Babangida said the deceased who was Editor of the old Daily Times Newspaper was very blunt, honest, and frank when he needed to be and was fond of interrogating submissions to be sure they were based on facts.
