Two new Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs camps have been established in two different secondary schools in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State, North-Central Nigeria.
The IDPs are said to be from more than 30 communities that were sacked by terrorists following persistent attacks. The displaced persons are from Kawuri, Kwaki, Chukuba, Kai-da-Hula and Galadiman-Kogo, among other communities that were attacked by the terrorists recently.

A visit to the new camps located in Shiroro and Zumba shows that the IDPs are in dire need. According to sources, between 60 to 70 families occupy a single class every night.
Food and healthcare are fundamental to the internally displaced persons, as one child needed immediate medical attention at the time of the visit, but his parents were helpless.
The presence of the displaced persons at the two secondary schools in Zumba and Shiroro and the Staff Club at African Camp has become a cause of concern to the school authorities and students.
The students have to wait for the displaced persons to vacate their classes in the morning to be able to occupy them and learn properly.
The teaching and learning were not without distractions, as the displaced children stood by the windows.
There is urgent need for the federal and state governments to take necessary measures to relocate the displaced persons to other locations.
The displaced persons have indicated readiness to go back to their respective villages, as the rainy season approaches at this time of the year.
Director-General of the Niger State Emergency Management Agency, Ahmad Inga however says the authorities are yet to receive information on the new camps in Zumba and Shiroro
Ahmad Inga insists that the process is for the Local Government Council to write to the agency officially for necessary arrangement.
