Foreign sponsors with the ulterior motives to cause mayhem and violent protests, which could lead to massive destruction of lives and properties across the country, are behind the planned protests billed for August 1 to August 10, 2024 have been identified.
Nigeria’s Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun disclosed this during a briefing this Friday at the Force Headquarters.
Egbetokun also said the leaders of different groups intending to protest must register with the Police command in their respective states.

The IGP, who acknowledged the rights of citizens to protest, said all peaceful protesters must be protected and those who fail to meet with the guidelines means they have ulterior motives.
He further said all protesting groups must also provide the intended venue, routes, and locations of the protest movement for proper coordination.
