The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, has approved the appointment of Chief Superintendent of Police, Benjamin Hundeyin, as the new Force Public Relations Officer. The appointment comes as the outgoing FPRO, Deputy Commissioner of Police Olumuyiwa Adejobi, hands over at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.
CSP Hundeyin, a seasoned communicator, brings with him years of experience in both public relations and international peacekeeping. He holds a degree in English Language from Lagos State University, a Master’s in Legal Criminology and Security Psychology from the University of Ibadan, and professional certifications from local and international institutions.
Hundeyin previously served as the Police Public Relations Officer at Zone 2 Command in Lagos, he was part of Nigeria’s contingent to the United Nations Peacekeeping Mission in Darfur, Sudan, and most recently as the Police Public Relations Officer of the Lagos State Police Command.
The Inspector-General of Police has charged the new spokesman to leverage his communications and security expertise to strengthen the Force’s relationship with the public.
CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, who is also a member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations and the International Public Relations Association, takes over from DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, who has now assumed higher responsibilities in Delta State Police Command.
With this transition, the Nigeria Police Force has said, it remains committed to deepening transparency, accountability, and public trust through effective communication.
