IGP commends Katsina constable for returning 800 Dollars to an intending pilgrim

The Inspector-General of Police, Alkali Baba, has commended a constable serving in the Katsina State Police Command, Nura Mande, for finding and returning the sum of 800 US dollars, equivalent to about 500 thousand Naira, belonging to an intending pilgrim, Hadiza Usman.

Baba, while commending the officer said, the singular act by the police constable has painted the force in a good light, saying the police is truly your friend

Represented by the Katsina State Commissioner of Police, Idris Dabban, the Inspector-General of Police, Alkali Baba, commended the officer for the act.

According to him, Constable Nura Mande is currently at the Katsina Hajj Camp, carrying out a Special Duty, looking after the intending pilgrims, where he found and returned intact, the 800 US dollars to the owner, Hadiza Usman.

According to the IGP, Constable Mande has exhibited honesty, integrity, hard work and dedication to duty, therefore, adding another feather to the
Cap of the police.

The officer, Constable Nura Mande, said from the teachings of Islam and his family background, they were taught never to take what does not belong to them.

He said the circumstance is even more, as the money belongs to someone who is going to perform the Hajj.

Mande further added that he feels very happy and fulfilled, to have returned the money, which was very tempting to keep, advising other Nigerians to borrow a leaf from his act, and be their brother’s keepers.
