The Nigeria Police says all essential workers including Medical Personnel, Firefighters, Ambulance Services, Journalists, etc are exempted from the restriction of movement associated with both the interstate ban and the national curfew across the Federation.
The Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu has therefore directed all Zonal Assistant Inspectors General of Police and Command Commissioners of Police to give effect to these exemptions whilst enforcing the restriction orders.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer Frank Mba, in an attempt to clear the air over the controversy on the IGP’s comment that essential service providers must observe the 8pm to 6am curfew imposed by President Buhari as part of measures to flatten the curve of Coronavirus pandemic in the country.
