The Inspector-General of Police, Alkali Baba has presented about 54 million Naira to 25 families of deceased officers of the Katsina State Police Command, who died in active service.
The cheques distributed, according to Baba, are part of his welfare package named, the ‘Group Life Assurance Scheme’.
Represented by the Katsina State Commissioner of Police, CP Idris Dabban, IGP Baba said, a total of Fifty Three Million, Nine Hundred And Seventy One Thousand, Six Hundred And Sixty Naira, Fifty Nine Kobo, was presented to the families of deceased police officers who died in active service.

In a statement by the Police spokesman, Superintendent Gambo Isah, the CP while presenting the cheques, appreciated the efforts of the Inspector-General of Police, for improving the welfare of the officers and men of the Nigeria Police Force, and urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the money.
Speaking on behalf of the benefiting families, Al’amin Nuradeen, thanked the Inspector-General of Police for the welfare package and promised to use the money judiciously.
