The first executive Governor of Bayelsa state, late Diepreye Alamieyeseigha has been described as a selfless leader who will be remembered passionately for his vision for social, political, and economic justice for his ijaw ethnic nationality.
The Bayelsa State Governor, Douye Diri, former Nigeria’s first Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan and other Ijaw leaders spoke at the occasion of the 7th memorial anniversary and public lecture in honour of the late governor.
The maiden public lecture was put together by the Bayelsa State government as part of activities to immortalize the former Governor.
Dignitaries at the event called on Bayelsans and by extension he Ijaw nation to unite in the actualization of the vision of the founding father.
Late Chief Diepreye Alamieyeseigha died on October 10, 2015 at the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital, Rivers State.
