The Lagos State Commander of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Alumona Callys has called on illicit drug traffickers in the state to stop while they have the chance to so.

Addressing journalists on the occasion of this year’s International Day against drug abuse and illicit trafficking, Alumona said his command will clampdown on
the activities of a cartel of dispatch riders used to distribute drugs in the State.

In line with this year’s theme tagged: “Addressing drug challenges in health and humanitarian crisis”, Alumona appealed to pharmacists to dispense controlled drugs according to doctors’ prescriptions. .

He used the occasion to call for collaboration with relevant government agencies in the fight against drug abuse in Nigeria.
