Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma says most of the road projects under by his administration are meant to forestall the menace of erosion and flooding this rainy season.
The Governor stated this while inspecting some project sites under construction at Assumpta, Port Harcourt Road, World Bank, Dig Tiger, MCC Road, and Chukwuma Nwora Street.
And in Abia State, the Government says it is determined to desilt various drainages in the State to ensure free flow of storm water as the rainy season sets in.

Acting Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Tom Okoro stated this at one of the disilting sites in Aba, the commercial nerve center of the State.
While Okoro expressed hope that with the exercise flooding in the city will reduce tremendously during the rainy season, the project supervisor, Ogbonna Dike assured that on completion, Aba will be free from flooding.
