The Imo State House of Assembly has removed Uche Ogbuagu, a member representing Ikeduru State Constituency in the House as the Majority Leader.
Kanayo Onyemaechi, who represents Owerri West takes over from him with immediate effect.
Speaker, Paul Emeziem announced the development during Wednesday’s plenary.
According to the Speaker, the removal of Ogbuagu was part of resolutions reached at the end of the meeting of the All Progressive Congress, APC caucus in the House.
He furthered disclosed that the APC caucus also passed a vote of ‘explicit’ confidence on the state governor, Hope Uzodinma.
Ogbuagu, who won his election under the PDP platform, defected to APC shortly after the Supreme Court ousted Emeka Ihedioha as governor and declared Uzodimma the winner of the election.
