Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa, says the armed force will do everything within its power to ensure that the November 11 off-season elections in Bayelsa and Imo states are peaceful, free and credible.
He said the armed forces will in line with the aspiration of President Bola Tinubu for a rancour and violence-free elections in Nigeria provide the enabling environment for voters to go out freely and vote for candidates of their choice
General Musa made the pledge when he paid a visit to the Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara
He has, in the last couple of days, visited and met with stakeholders in Imo and Bayelsa, the two states where the November 11 off-season elections will be taking place
On this Wednesday, the Chief of Defence Staff, General Christopher Musa decided to make a stopover in Rivers State to meet with Governor Sim Fubara and also assure him of the armed forces commitment to ensuring peaceful and credible elections in the country.

General Musa is also taking advantage of his visit to the oil and gas-rich Rivers State to discuss ways of tackling the issues of crude oil theft, illegal oil bunkering, and other economic crimes in the Niger Delta Region
On his part, Governor Sim Fubara says his administration will continue to partner with the military and other security agencies to build a safer and better Nigeria.
He also used the opportunity to assure the people of the state that current disagreement between him and his predecessor and now Minister of the Federal Capital Territory Nyesom Wike will be resolved.
