The Association of Resident Doctors in Imo state has joined the nationwide strike of its members, ait.live monitored the strike at the federal medical Centre, Owerri and noticed that some outpatients are expressing displeasure over the development.
They are urging the federal government to do the needful and address the demands of the doctors.

It is day one of the industrial action by the resident doctors to press home their demands following federal government’s inability to fulfill its welfare of members
At the medical Centre, Owerri, some outpatients say they were being attended to by reluctant consultants.
They urged the federal government to do the needful and address the demands of the doctors.
Meanwhile, the public relations officer federal medical centre said they are doing all they can not to completely turn their backs on patients especially those with emergency cases
The issue at stake is the demand for the payment of all salaries, upward review of the hazard allowance to 50 percent of consolidated basic salaries for health workers among demands.
