The Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodima, has assured the people of the state that scarcity of potable water in the state will soon be a thing of the past.
This assurance follows the Memorandum of Understanding signed by the Imo State government and the United States Agency for International Development, USAID.
Over the years, Imo residents have not enjoyed clean drinkable water they depend purely on water vendors.
The Otamiri Water Scheme, built by former Governor of old Imo State, Sam Mbakwe, in 1979, has since been abandoned.
The new partnership with USAID for clean and Potable water in the state is receiving commendation by the residents.

As government moves towards restoring water schemes, hopefully sanitation and proper hygiene will be improved in Imo State.
